Looks like Rinne will be in goal...
Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, who was announced yesterday to be day-to-day with a lower-body injury, returned to the team's practice in Ottawa on Wednesday afternoon.
The NHL's Third Star of the Week missed Monday's practice and Tuesday's contest versus the Maple Leafs, but was back in the crease at the Bell Sensplex today. Marek Mazanec was the other goalie on the ice for Nashville on Wednesday.
"It was good [to have him back on the ice]. I think he's feeling better, and it's good to have him out there," Mike Fisher said of Pekka Rinne. "He brings the level of practice up with the way he works. It's always good to have him back. He's been unbelievable this year."

As I watched the Blue Jay play-off run this year (I hate watching regular season games..... BORING) I noticed the commentators using the term 'walk off home run'.... now I thought was a new term for pinch hit home run, but I was was wrong.....
So exactly what is a walk off home run? |

one that ends the game in the bottom of an inning...ie the 9th or extra innings. Only the home team can walk-off because they have the last at-bat, so it is rather exciting for the fans. |

Funny how the Sens have a better than expected record at 10-5-1 yet it still feels like they're on a losing streak or something. |

you know they were talking about that on 1200 earlier today....
they are 10-5-1, with several of their 'big scorers' in horrible slumps and yet all people see is the negative.....
As of right now, these are the projected season numbers for the following players;
Derek Brassard - 5g, 25a .... 30 pts
Mike Hoffman - 15g, 20a .... 35pts
Bobby Ryan - 15g, 15a .... 30 pts
Mark Stone - 15g, 20a .... 35 pts
Those would be considered to be horrible years ..... there's no way that they will stay mired in those slumps ...... cld they
Only in Ottawa where the glass is not only half empty, people assume that there is something wrong with the water quality and want it tested by 3 different companies before they drink it.....
I guess its the curse of being a gov't town .... analysis to the point of paralysis.

I think a lot of fans have seen what happened to the habs last year, and the leafs pretty much every other year, and realized that early season success.....especially the way Ottawa has been winning......often times isn't sustainable.
can you be happy with the record and at the same time not happy with the way this team has been playing..........ABSOLUTELY
They've won 10 games but I bet you could only point to maybe 3-4 and say that they were clearly the better team. |

This is exactly why we shouldn't be overly concerned. It is inevitable that most of the guys that aren't going right now will be going and we will not be unhappy with the way in which the team is playing.
If the team was playing to their capabilities, they'd be something like 13-2 .... not 10-5 |

Max Mcormick in, sure why not. Not like Lazar or Paul are showing management they deserve a call up.
Sens give up an early goal. No way |

No MacArthur. No Hoffman. No Ryan. Where is the proven NHL offense supposed to come from?
Karlsson is not having a good night. |

1) Coming into this season, x factors for me were MacArthur + Ryan. BOTH were out today. Including Hoffman, 3 of your top 4 wingers out, sorry but your likely loosing to a team like the Preds.
2) Team chemistry !! This is the biggest one - especially offensive lines. Hopefully they settle at some point.
3) PP !! This team will improve when their PP improves. Those goals will be really important.
4) Speaking of which -- put Chris Neil in front - net presence! NO... put Zack Smith! This guy has good hands, good hand-eye.... it's very premature to say this but Holmstrom made a NAME for himself like this. I think it could be the perfect fit. |

f'ing right............... 3 of your top 4 wingers.
This team needs to grab a guy like Vrbata when the Coyotoes are done but that teen GM is good
Again, on the PP... let's say we're standing at the blueline looking at the goalie straight ahead of us on the point. Karlsson should be at the point, probably switching with Hoffman. Now... you can overload with 3 guys like Turris, Stone, Brassard, like their doing now... OR....
You put Smith and Pageau with Stone (or even Turris) and put Brassard on another unit with Ceci and Phanuef. Zack Smith HAS to be tried in front of the net. He's a cr ap disturber..... he's got good hands, good hand eye.... |
